American Seed Trade Association Seed Expo 2019
This month, I attended the American Seed Trade Association’s 2019 Seed Expo in Chicago, Illinois. The ASTA CSS & Seed Expo is America’s largest seed conference with more than 2,500 seed industry professionals from 36 countries. ASTA’s main goal is to work with the seed industry as an advocate for research, development, and movement of seed to help produce better crops and help meet the world’s increasing demand for food.
ASTA strives to provide communication and education to their audience on issues and trends that are affecting the seed industry. this is a great conference to attend to increase our knowledge of different components of the seed industry.
Industry trends
Many different trends in the seed industry were discussed—including trait trace-ability, software in the market that helps analyze seed treatment chemicals, and determining the quality of seed treatment application adhesion.
It is clear that the seed industry is booming with new technology, and it felt empowering to be in one place with leaders in the seed industry who all share the same goal as us—helping feed the world with new innovation and development!
